Collaborative Circle Painting

For our last Art Class of the year, students have been working together to create these large-scale paintings focused on circles. The circle is an easy-to-make and easy-to-adapt shape that can be used as a springboard for focused creativity. The circle is often symbolic for notions of totality, wholeness, and cycles among other things. Circles are also found throughout the natural world, from cells to planets and everything in between. All 'n all, circles are cool and bring people together. It took about three 40 minute class periods to finish six of these paintings, which means each one was made across classrooms and grade levels; a true communal project.
