Shaving Cream Marbling Paper
These are very fun and exciting. The clean-up isn’t too bad either.

Basically you use a cookie sheet or other similar tray and spread shaving cream all over it evenly. Use
acrylic paints, or food coloring to drip dots of color on the shaving cream. With a spoon or paintbrush,
move the paint around in wavy lines to mix the colors slightly. Press a piece of paper face down into the
shaving cream/paint. Pick it back up and scrape the excess shaving cream off with a sheet of cardboard
(this acts as a squeegee). You are left with a beautiful marbleized paper. Great for card-making and
sending notes to loved ones.
Mud Prints
(for those of you who don’t mind getting a little messy)
(for those of you who don’t mind getting a little messy)
Go outside and find some interesting plants or objects from nature. Leaves are best this time of year.
You can use actual mud (mixed with glue to make it permanent) to make prints of your findings. You can
also just use regular paint if you don’t want to make the special mud mixture. Or plain mud, if you don’t
mind the impermanence.
Painting Animal Rocks
Go outside and collect some nice flat rocks.
Clean the dirt off of them and let them dry.
Use paints to give them character.
You could make any animal.
Simple faces are usually best.
Mandala Drawings
Begin in the center of your paper with a dot. Draw a repeated pattern around it. Draw a new pattern around the previous. Continue this until you get a large circular image. These are very calming. These could be painted with watercolors too.
